In a state that recently legalized cannabis, ironing out the kinks has been a challenge. Since California’s first legal cannabis stores opened on January 1, 2018, it’s been up to the state’s regulators to shut down black market stores in an effort to curb illegal cannabis activity in the highly regulated new market. Now the Associated Press reported that nearly 20 percent of California’s legal products have failed lab testing reports. What: The first inaugural Cannabis Country Fair will combine traditional country fair experiences with the newly unified community of cannabis.

Who: Cannabis farmers, wellness enthusiasts, industry educators, chefs and musicians will all contribute to this weekend of fun. Many big-name music groups will light up the stage, including: Thievery Corporation, Portugal, The Man, Beats Antique, White Denim, Allen Stone, Anders Osborne, Jamestown Revival, Katchafire, Lyrics Born, and more to be announced. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a cannabis industry company is stepping up in support.

Bloom Farms, a medical cannabis company based out of San Francisco, has just released a limited edition pink vape pen and vape cartridge in support of breast cancer awareness. The vape pen is a version of their award-winning Highlighter vape pen.

Bloom Farms has also donated $5000 to Susan G. Komen Circle of Promise. This initiative aims to counter the inequality in breast cancer survival amongst African American women. The Circle of Promise is a resource for women in the fight against breast cancer.
