CBD for Health and Wellness: Spotlight on Kannaway

Hemp-derived CBD products are growing in popularity, from cannabis-derived non-psychoactive oils and nutritional supplements to pain relief and refreshing beauty routines. Kannaway is one company leading the industry with their revolutionary new products. We asked Blake Schroeder, CEO of Kannaway, about his thoughts on CBD, hemp and cannabis. What are the benefits of using hemp derived CBD for health and wellness?

As a lifestyle company, we believe that plant-based cannabinoids can supplement the largest self-regulatory system within the human body, the endogenous cannabinoid system. By so doing, [the body receives] health and wellness benefits.

Is CBD available in all 50 states?

Yes and no.  Hemp food products are legal in all 50 U.S. states and one can find hemp seed, hemp seed oil and hemp protein powder in health food stores throughout the nation.  Our products fit into this category, partly because they originate from parts of the world where it is fully legal to grow hemp. Other CBD products are often grown in the U.S. where hemp is only legal for research purposes, not commercial purposes.  Thus some interstate transportation of this type of hemp CBD is not federally legal, but seems to be happening – for now.

How do you ensure that your products are the best they can be?

Quality assurance comes via significant laboratory testing – for both cannabinoid content as well as any residual toxicity.

What is your favorite of Kannaway products?

My favorite is the Rev!ve PM! For as long as I can remember I have had trouble sleeping; the very first day using Rev!ve PM my sleep durations increased dramatically, and I awake feeling fresh and ready to tackle the day.

How has cannabis helped define who you are?

Overall the cannabis plant family has been at the center of significant controversy – and now that there is growing awareness of non-psychoactive cannabinoids, many people choose to utilize this form of cannabis for health and wellness.  We have made a lifestyle company fit within the overall cannabis industry, which is quite encompassing.

Where do you see the cannabis beauty products industry headed in the future?

I think you will see virtually every manufacture enter this market as the amazing results gain popularity.

If you had to choose, what is the one beauty item you can’t live without?

I personally love the Cannabis Beauty Defined Salve. It is so good for so many reasons.

Do you enjoy cannabis? If so, what is your favorite strain?

My favorite CBD product is our RSHO Green and I use this before sleep at night.  It seems that the Cannabidiolic Acid (CBD-A) may have a greater affinity for the CB1 receptor that may assist central nervous system relaxation – and thus assist sleep.

What sets your products apart from your competitors?

Testing, quality assurance and track record.  We are a company of firsts – first to produce a CBD nutraceutical product for U.S. and world markets, first to bring a legal cannabis-based product to a Latin American country (Brazil, April 2014), first to bring a legal cannabis-based product to Mexico (February 2016, with RSHO-X) and to Paraguay. The RSHO-X product would be the first cannabis-based product to qualify for world anti-doping standards.

What are you working on next?

What a lot of the industry is looking to now, to further validate all of our amazing anecdotal stories from our families: clinical research.

We’re glad to see the cannabis industry expanding and gaining speed; Kannaway is certainly leading the way.
