Protesters are standing up for social equality in the cannabis industry by calling out John Boehner and MedMen CEO Adam Bierman and their keynote speeches at this year’s South by Southwest Conference and Festival.
John Boehner has voted against cannabis policy yet holds a seat on the board of directors of one of the largest cannabis firms in the nation. Bierman is the owner of one of the largest cannabis companies, largely considered to be the ‘big business’ of the cannabis industry.
Protesters are pointing out the hypocrisy of these two speeches as both men continue to make huge profits off of the industry without committing to equity, justice,and repair of the damages the War on Drugs has caused so many individuals and families.
