Certain patients in Georgia can now legally use marijuana.
“On April 16th, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed into law HB 1 the Haleigh’s Hope Act” which allows “qualified patients to legally possess up to 20 fluid ounces of low-THC cannabis oils with their doctors’ recommendations” –Marijuana Policy Project
Although this bill only allows a limited amount of patients to obtain cannabis oil, it does show a swing in what states think about marijuana. Just five years ago, a bill like this would have been swiftly swept under the rug in Georgia. So maybe this is a sign of doors cracking open. And maybe in another five years, we will see the door blow open.
