South Korea Becomes 1st Asian Country to Legalize MMJ

Legalized cannabis has reached Asia – South Korea just approved medical marijuana.

Normally conservative cultures, Asian countries are beginning to see the benefits of cannabis for medical use, something that has been demonstrated by Western countries like the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

What are the details? According to Matt Lamers:

“To receive medical cannabis, patients would be required to apply to the Korea Orphan Drug Center, a government body established to facilitate patient access to rare medicines in the country. Approval would be granted on a case-by-case basis. Patients would also need to receive a prescription from a medical practitioner.”
