Cannabis World Congress [Event Recap]

Did you miss the Cannabis World Congress (CWC) event in NYC last week? Here’s a quick overview of how it went from several key marijuana industry players who were there:

“The CWC grew quite a bit from 2015 and had a wider variety of exhibitors this year. More importantly were the attendees who came from all walks of life and industry, including patients, nurses, doctors, growers, attorneys, insurers, designers, packagers, etc. As both the medical & recreational sides of the movement work to clarify standards and consistency, we’ll see the industry grow and normalize just like any other large consumer product goods segment. What’s most important now is clarity, reliable information and the breaking down of stereotypes. That’s what we provide to the community through the magazine”.  –David Paleschuck, Vice President of Licensing and Brand Marketing at Dope Magazine

“The CWC is a terrific venue for the cannabis professional to network with fellow industry executives. It provides a forum to hear the latest news on products and companies and to listen to your peers educate the public on important cannabis based issues. For attendees, the CWC provides a diverse overview of the industry as a whole. If you want to learn about the business of cannabis, this is a strong place to start.”  –Rob Hunt, Partner at Tuatara Capital

“This is our 3rd year at the CWC, and what was apparent was that instead of people getting familiar with the industry, they came in knowing what questions they wanted to ask. While last year a lot of people were still getting their toes wet, this year it moved a step further with people asking much deeper questions and getting key insights.”  –David Goldstein, CEO of PotBotics

“My overall impression of the Cannabis World Congress was that the vast majority of attendees, while working with the intent of increasing their respective organizations’ total business and impact on the space, were primarily focused on contributing to the overall good of the industry and the many that are impacted by its success. It’s always encouraging to take part in these types of events and see the good that people are working to accomplish, and I’m proud to be a part of that.”  –Brett Roper, COO and Founder at Medicine Man Technologies
