More than 12 lawmakers in Massachusetts support a bill that would legalize, tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol similar to the laws in Washington state and Colorado. Residents aged 21 and over will be able to purchase and consume marijuana safely, on personal premises.
The bill, if passed, would allow for dispensaries, distributers, sellers and growers of marijuana, creating thousands of jobs and countless tax dollars for the state. According to WBUR News and Wire Services, the bill is being backed and pushed through legislature by the Marijuana Policy Project.
